Description

Lysá hora (1,324 m) is the highest summit of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy range and forms the defining landmark of the Beskydy landscape. A weather station and observation tower crown the summit, which provides views over the forested hills to the Tatras on clear days. The Beskydy Protected Landscape Area around it harbours rare large carnivores — bears, lynx, and wolves.

Important Information

Meteorological station on summit (not publicly accessible). Observation tower open in summer. Bears and lynx present — make noise in forest. Trailhead at Ostravice or Staré Hamry. Year-round destination; ski area at Pustevny nearby. Excellent multi-day ridge walk possibilities.
