Description
Lomnický štít (2,634 m) is the second highest peak of the Slovak High Tatras and one of the most accessible high-altitude summits in Central Europe. A cable car from Tatranská Lomnica reaches the summit, where a meteorological observatory, restaurant, and post office operate year-round. The summit terrace offers panoramic views of the High Tatras and — on clear days — the Polish lowlands to the north.

Cable car runs daily from Tatranská Lomnica; ticket ~€35 round trip. Summit at 2,634 m — bring warm clothing even in summer (temperatures regularly below 0°C). World's highest astronomical observatory at this elevation in Slovakia. Mountain hike to summit also possible (expert only).
