Description
Chopok (2,024 m) is one of Slovakia's most visited mountain summits, thanks to the Jasná Ski Resort which operates gondola lifts year-round. From the summit, the ridge trail westward toward Ďumbier passes through pristine subalpine terrain. In winter, Jasná is the most extensive ski resort in Slovakia. The summit terrace restaurant is a popular stop.
Important Information
Gondola lift from Jasná resort available year-round (€25 return). Walking approach from Bystrá or Záhradky villages. Ridge walk to Ďumbier adds 3–4 hrs. Very crowded ski resort in winter. Excellent starting point for Low Tatras ridge traverse.
